Complete Set U.S. Prestige Proof Sets

Offered here is a complete set of U.S. Prestige Proof Sets. The U.S. Mint produced these special "Prestige" proof sets from 1983 to 1997, excluding 1985. Each set included the normal 5-coins found in regular proof sets (cent, nickel, dime, quarter and half dollar) along with a different commemorative silver dollar coin for each year. Eight of the sets (1986, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996) also included a different commemorative half dollar coin in addition to the normal Kennedy half dollar. The sets were beautifully packaged in deluxe velvet or suede presentation booklets. The U.S. Mint ended the program in 1997.

The following themes were used on the special commemorative coins: 1983 & 1984 - Los Angeles Olympics, 1986 - Statue of Liberty, 1987 - U.S. Constitution, 1988 - Seoul Olympics, 1989 - Congress Bicentennial, 1990 Eisenhower Centennial, 1991 - Mount Rushmore, 1992 - Barcelona Olympics, 1993 - Bill of Rights, 1994 - World Cup Soccer, 1995 - Civil War, 1996 - Atlanta Olympics, and 1997 - Botanic Garden.

The complete date run set of Prestige Proof Sets is extremely hard to assemble with several dates almost impossible to find since the last three dates (1995, 1996, and 1997) had very low mintages. The 1996 date is the key to the series with only 55,000 sets originally produced! Compare this tiny mintage to the regular 5-coin 1996 proof set mintage of 1.7 million sets. A total of fourteen prestige proof sets are included in this offer (only two prestige sets pictured due to space limitations).
