JUST RELEASED! - 2007 British Uncirculated Silver Britannia
The 2007 British Silver Britannia features a stunning new design, by artist Christopher Le Brun. The coin depicts a seated figure of Britannia, gazing out to sea, with cliffs disappearing into the background and a lion stretched out at her feet. The contemporary design incorporates the traditional symbolism of Britannia with the inclusion of Neptune's trident resting in her right hand, a sprig of olive in her left and a shield standing prominently at her side. Britannia's image is steeped in history, having been featured on a coin of every British monarch since the reign of Charles II in 1630. The obverse design features Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The coin is GEM Brilliant Uncirculated with a brilliant "proof-like" finish. The coin contains 1.044 ounces of "Britannia" 0.958 fine silver (1 oz. net pure silver) and is legal tender in England with a face value of £2.
The Silver Britannia is arguably the most beautiful of all the world one ounce silver coins and is also very hard to find since few are exported to the United States. In fact, mintage is limited to only 100,000 coins world-wide! Compare this tiny mintage to the typical silver eagle annual mintage of 9 to 10 million coins. The coin comes packaged in it's original mint sealed plastic. Buy multiples of 20 coins and they will come in original mint sheets of twenty.
This exact coin is sold on the British Royal Mint website at £16.95 (about US$33.50) per coin PLUS international postage. Due to our volume buying, we are pleased to offer these coins at significant savings with the lowest prices you'll find anywhere!
